80 Years Young And Going Strong!
Yep, that's me. On Saturday (May 17th, 2003) I joined the Octogenarian Club. It was the
first day of the rest of my life and wow, I'm really looking forward to living it!
Becoming 80 years young I was asked by a friend about the differences in food and
overall health that I have experienced in my lifetime.
I remember in the late 1920's and early 30's when we could buy fresh vegetables every
day. The butter was sweet and delicious and you bought it out of a tub.
You could skim sweet cream off the top of a bottle of milk if you wanted to and the
organic eggs were fresh daily. Chicken and meat were tender, tasty, and wholesome.
We had fresh fish almost daily and our drinking water was sweet, delicious, and wasn't
polluted.
Fish was delivered to the market every day, fresh and delicious. Our breads, cakes, and
pies, still make my mouth water every time I think about them, and our ice cream...well
our ice cream...it was real. Made with rich fresh cream. No additives or gums to fluff it
up and hold it together for what passes off for ice cream today. Pretty sad!
There was no Adult Onset diabetes (Type II). There were no auto-immune diseases of
any consequences. There were few heart attacks and people with clogged arteries.
Today we have thousands of heart specialists and surgeons who are Millionaires, and
15 year olds who have Adult Onset Diabetes.
Today we have hydrogenated oils, canola oil, bleached flour, artificial flavors, hormones
in our milk, meat, and chickens, and polluted oceans that supply us with polluted fish.
We have polluted drinking water and polluted air that we breathe.
Support Our Local Hospital . . . Get Sick?
I remember traveling by railway from Perth, Australia across the Gulagong and when the
train made a stop at some small town in the middle of the desert. There was a large
sign at the railway station there which read, "Support Our Local Hospital...Get Sick".
Well, today we don't have to ask people to get sick, between the drug companies, our
medical profession, the FDA, vegetable oil and food processing companies, they are
doing a darn good job of making millions of people sick at our expense!
So how do you reach 80 and beyond and be healthy, in great shape, and look forward
to continue to live a long, joyous, healthy, quality life? Just follow the simple health and
nutrition rules that I have given you.
Eat your flax seed oil and low fat cottage cheese and lots of vegetables. Eat two to
three eggs a day. Have fish twice a week. Have meat three to four times a week, and
take your supplements.
In today's environment and the food supply available to us, without supplements, our
health will steadily deteriorate.
My life turned around by following my own advice. Just a few years ago I had heart
problems and was not in very good health.
We had a big bash in celebration of my 80th birthday, and now I am planning for my next
big bash at my 85th birthday, and every five years thereafter. When you're healthy...life is
a joy!
In addition to the above, as part of my health building program, it is important that you
do not eat anything that contains canola oil or hydrogenated oils.
No fast foods or fried foods in restaurants and that you read the labels of every foodstuff
you buy and that you be very selective. Eat organic whenever you can.
I know of a man who, at age 93, can still pump 200 lbs of iron. When asked how he
stayed so healthy, he said, "If God didn't make it, I don't eat it".
If you ask me how does it feel to be an octogenarian I'd have to tell you I don't really
know since I feel like sixty.
With the right nutrition and the right supplements it's amazing how well you can maintain
your good health and how well you can reverse poor health and disease.
There are thousands out there like me. Why not join the party? Remember, it's not the
money that counts, it's your good health and well-being! You can't live the good life
without it. We've done it and so can you!
Yours in good health,
