The Modern Day Boston Tea Party Health Matters
Minutes Article

Dec. 19, 2003
A recent news item covered the FDA's recent New York Tea Party. The FDA dumped $4,000 worth of healthful tea onto the street from a herbal shop then hauled it away.

What was the crime? The herbal shop claimed that certain teas were actually healthy for you and they did so without the permission of the FDA.

Stating that tea is healthy for you is a criminal activity according to the FDA (Food & Drug Administration), and must be punished.

Soooooooo...everyone needs to stop drinking tea if they think it is healthy for them.

Now, if you can think up any other reason to drink tea, then it is ok. Just don't drink it because it is health for you!

But wait! Here's another news flash! It's from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and it says "Drink tea! It's healthy for you!"

Some new research conducted by the USDA indicates that the consumption of the popular black tea may lower LDL "bad" cholesterol by as much as 11% without reducing HDL "good" cholesterol and do this in 3 WEEKS! You don't need to be a lifetime tea drinker to benefit.

Here's the kicker. Even if the U.S. Government (USDA) says drinking tea it's good for you, our FDA can shut you down. If it's not patentable by a drug company, it can't be healthy.

Clearly that's the power of the FDA and why you need to question all the drug recommendations the pharmaceutical companies advertise and all the drugs that our main stream medical profession want to prescribe for you.

The majority of our health problems come from bad food and bad drugs. The FDA doesn't recommend cures through good food and nutritional supplements, and yet, that is where most of the prevention and cures come from.

Here are some more proven scientific studies, known for years, and accepted around the world except by our FDA, of why you should be drinking teas like green, black or rooibos.

In a study of more than 35,000 postmenopausal women, those who drank at least two cups of black tea a day were 40% less likely to develop urinary tract cancer and 68% less likely to develop cancer in the digestive tract than post menopausal women who did not drink black tea.

Other research shows tea may be a promising weapon in the fight against cancers of the prostate, stomach, bladder, and esophagus.

Moreover, studies in both China and Japan concluded that smokers who drink black or green tea have a lower incidence of lung cancer.

Both Japanese and Chinese men are very heavy smokers, more so then men in the US, and yet the lung cancer rate in Japan and China is much lower then in the United States. (Japanese men drink lots of green tea and Chinese men drink a lot of black tea.)

Whether tea really helps prevent cancer is still under debate, but research in its favor is piling up and is attributed the polyphenols (anti-oxidants) found in tea.
  • First, the polyphenols prevent free radicals from damaging DNA, nipping cancer initiation in the bud.
  • Second, they seem to prevent uncontrolled cell growth, slowing cancer development.
  • And third, certain polyphenols may even destroy cancer cells without harming the surrounding healthy cells.

When Japanese researchers combined cancer medications with polyphenols, the treatment was 20 times more effective than the cancer drugs alone, according to a study published in the March 1998 issue of the Japanese Journal of Cancer Research.

In 1999 the findings from research conducted in Japan indicated that the anti-aging properties found in Rooibos (English Translation - "Red Bush") far exceeded any other known plant on earth.

Japanese researchers discovered why South Africans call Rooibos Tea "The Miracle Tea".

Studies conducted at the Institute for Science of Aging at AICHI Medical University in Japan, showed Rooibos Tea to contain Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD) - an outstanding antioxidant - popyphenols and flavonoids, all prime fighters of free radical damage.

Free radical damage is a known cause of aging, and in the formation of cancer and other diseases.

100% Organic Rooibos Tea Limits Free Radical Damage!

Japanese scientist Matatoshi Nakano, has discovered that the adverse effect of free radicals in the process of aging and decline of the immune system is limited by the anti-oxidants in Red Bush Tea (Rooibos).

And if you brew/boil Rooibos for longer than 10 minutes, the anti-oxidant activity becomes even much higher, resulting in even greater protection against the ravages of free radicals.

Their research also found Red Bush Tea to be beneficial in the treatment of high blood pressure, diabetes, mellitus, atherosclerosis, allergic diseases, various dermatus diseases, liver diseases and cataracts.

More Confirmations: In September 1998 a group of scientists from around the world met at the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC for an International Symposium on Tea and Human Health, co-sponsored by The American Cancer Society, the Nutrition Committee of the American Heart Association, the American Health Foundation, and others.

Dozens of new studies reaffirmed earlier work done in Europe and Asia that three or more 6 oz. cups of tea a day help fend off cancer, reduce heart disease, fight the negative effects of aging, and promote elimination of dietary fats, among other health benefits.

And our FDA has the audacity to confiscate tea because the seller claimed it is healthy for you!

The FDA is enough to make you sick without catching a bug! Drink tea. It's healthy for you.

To your good health and longevity! Because you're worth it!
